The concert given by Alison Eales and Rob Hughes, ‘Intermezzo’, on Saturday 23rd February was a joint event with the Baldock Town Hall group, which raised £500. This was shared with the Tower Hall group and we hope to hold further joint events in the future. It was a highly successful evening with many enjoyable, popular pieces. Many thanks to Alison and Rob for their generosity in volunteering their time to entertain us.

The Friends’ AGM took place on Monday 15th April in the Church. Although the attendance was sparse, we are grateful to those who gave up their time to attend. We have attached a copy of the Minutes if you are interested to read them.

The Friends hosted a stall at the Baldock Street Fair on Saturday 18th May which involved ‘spinning the wheel’ and ‘guess the weight of the cake’. This proved extremely popular and raised £258 towards the Tower Fund. Many thanks to the volunteers who manned the stall and to Tracey Spradlin who baked the delicious cake!

New Committee members still needed

We still have space on the Committee for other volunteers, though we welcome Peter Joslin who has recently agreed to join the Committee. Please contact us if you wish to know more about what it entails.

Update on the Tower Fund:

The latest good news is that the amount still outstanding on the tower loan has now been reduced to approximately £88,500. We are grateful for your continuing support and hope to see you at future events in 2013 (see below).
